Using AVI Effects with Jinx!: A Practical LED Matrix Guide

AVI can be a convenient source format for LED-matrix visuals, but playback and controller compatibility depend on more than the filename. Work at the real panel resolution, test the codec locally, and keep the final controller export as a separate step.

Prepare the animation

Set the canvas to the physical matrix size before rendering. Keep the frame rate consistent, use a short loop for the first test and avoid relying on a codec that is only installed on one computer. Colours and movement should be checked on the LED panel, not only in a desktop preview.

Import and test in Jinx!

1. Create a Jinx! setup that matches the matrix width, height, wiring direction and pixel order.
2. Load a short AVI test clip.
3. Check the result on the real hardware for scaling, colour order and smooth playback.
4. Adjust the source animation if the display is mirrored, cropped or stuttering.

Use ready-made effects deliberately

The LED Effects Pack is a collection of ready-made animations; it is not Pixel LED Animator or a controller-programming application. Check the listed formats and your chosen workflow before purchasing.

Export for the controller separately

If your installation uses a controller such as a T-1000S, K-1000C or K-8000C, export in the format that controller expects after you have tested the source visual. LEDEdit Pro 2026 is separate software for supported controller workflows, with LED mapping, live preview and .led export.
